Nigel BrewsterNigel Brewster – Regional Manager – Sewell MoorhouseIt’s a buoyant time for recruitment in Doncaster , according to recruitment consultancy Sewell Moorhouse. And this is considered to be largely the result of inward investment and the resulting impact on local business. Having been established in Doncaster for over 8 years, Sewell Moorhouse’s Doncaster office has experienced record results in the last 12 months – with a phenomenal increase in activity. During this period, nearly 40% of placements made by the company’s senior recruitment division in Doncaster were with organisations new to the area or new clients.

Also during the period, the Sewell Moorhouse team covering temporary and interim positions experienced growth of over 60%, which is seen as a good indication of a healthy local recruitment market. Indeed Sewell Moorhouse themselves have taken on an additional 3 recruitment consultants to deal with the increased activity.

Due to the volume of vacancies, employers need to establish competitive packages in order to secure quality staff. Nigel Brewster, Regional Manager of Sewell Moorhouse, highlights that “Many high calibre individuals live and work in the local area. There has also been a rapid increase in the numbers prepared to commute in for senior and middle management positions.

It seems that employers shouldn’t be fooled into thinking that Doncaster is a depressed market for recruitment. Doncaster salaries are competing really well against regional and national averages.
