Some of Sheffield’s leading accountants came head to head on Monday evening as they competed for the Sewell Moorhouse Five Aside Football Trophy.
Teams included star players from Hawsons, Barber Harrison & Platt, PKF, DLA, SIG, Grant Thornton and Mitchells.
The event took place at Goodwins Sports Pitch and the tournament was a great success – with group winners Mitchells, Hawsons and Barber Harrison & Platt going through to the semis, along with DLA as the best runner up.
Barber Harrison & Platt went on to achieve a 2-0 victory in the final over fellow accountancy practice Hawsons. This was a nail-biting final with two late goals from scorers James Village and Gareth Lloyd.
Justin Barber of Sewell Moorhouse who organised the event said “The evening was great fun, with a relaxed and informal atmosphere, underpinned by a healthy competitive spirit! This is the first Five Aside competition that Sewell Moorhouse has organised for Sheffield’s financial community. It was a great success and we’ll undoubtedly make this an annual event”.
Ian Horton of Barber Harrison & Platt added “This was a really well organised event and a very enjoyable evening. We’ll be looking forward to defending our title next year”.
