Temporary and Contract Recruitment for Candidates/Consultants

Over the last 10 years we have seen continual change in the economy, on a local, regional, national and global scale. Many companies have experienced a variety of de-centralisation, re-centralisation, outsourcing, growth, consolidation and downsizing. As a result, the recruitment market has become more dynamic and the need for highly skilled, temporary and contract employees has increased to an all time high.

With this in mind temporary and tontract positions are becoming an increasingly popular career choice for many finance professionals as it can provide an excellent alternative to permanent work and can offer the following :-

  • Flexibility of temporary/contract work enables individuals to work round other responsibilities
  • The variety of temporary/contract work enables individuals to bolster or cement your experience and CV
  • Opportunity may lead to a  permanent position as you prove your skills and worth
  • Enhanced remuneration in comparison to permanent employment

Differences between a temporary worker and a contract worker?

The distinction between temporary staff and contractors is purely based on how they are employed/engaged. As the title suggests, a contractor is employed by the client on a fixed term basis (common contract lengths are 3,6 and 12 months), are added to the employers pay roll and paid on a pro-rata basis, and are often afforded the same benefits and holiday entitlement as permanent employees.

Temporary workers are engaged on the basis of an hourly or daily rate. However, the fact that a temp is engaged on this basis does not dictate the length of assignment.

Temporary workers often continue in the same position for extended periods and some contracts are completed in a matter of weeks.

Our consultants look to build long-term relationships by providing you with a consistent, reliable point of contact. Honesty and objectivity are vital ingredients to our consultative and pro-active approach.
